Lee & Peta Taberner had a divine encounter with God in 1993 & were radically saved & delivered from a life of drugs & crime. Going from rock bottom to running successful businesses, they then laid everything down to follow the call of God & stepped into full time ministry in 2012 when they founded Hope Ministries International.

Now fully credentialed ACC Pastors, Lee & Peta have a passion to see the church in love with Jesus, equipped, empowered & activated so that they can overflow His love to those around them.
As well as managing their own ministry, Lee & Peta are the State Leaders for Fire Church Ministries in Queensland & the Senior Leaders at Fire Church Brisbane South.

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.
We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.
We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues which is the initial evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit. We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.
We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively. We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Homeless Program
We have two ministry tents available…one is an older peg & pole style tent-18m x 27m, which can hold approx 300 people. The other is a newer ClearSpan Marque–15m x 30m, which can accomodate up to 600 people.
We also have a fully license food van, a BBQ trailer, amusement rides & fun food machines such as fairy floss, snow cones & popcorn. When holding crusades in various cities or towns, we often provide a free family fun day for the community.

Homeless Program
Hope Ministries International runs a weekly BBQ in the city of Brisbane for the homeless & those in need. Each week a team of volunteers provide dinner, non perishable food, toiletries, bibles, sleeping bags & other essential items to those in attendance.
Each Christmas HMI provide a Christmas dinner, hampers & gifts for the homeless as well as for families who are struggling. Food hampers are also available all year round for those in need.

The Empowered IN HIM Training Schools began as a God-given idea in late 2020 with the intention of equipping & activating the church in evangelism & outreach. As the schools have grown, they have become an apostolic training hub training those who feel called in all areas of the five-fold gifts…apostle, pastor, teacher, prophet & evangelist.
We have held many schools ranging from one-day only intensives to 4 day training & activation with people travelling from all over Australia to be equipped & empowered!
